Although the Smart Villages approach has become rooted in the rural development pillar of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), further consolidation and clarifications are needed around its implementation through the 2023-2027 CAP Strategic Plans. Read more in the Smart Rural 27 project report.
The publication, produced by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), analyses and overviews the knowledge accumulated through developing this online platform. The Rural toolkit, launched in February 2024, is a comprehensive guide to EU funding and support opportunities for rural areas in the EU.
Consultation
The European Commission has launched an online survey addressed to European farmers. Other applicants to CAP support can also participate to the survey. The survey is open until 8 April 2024, 23:59 (CEST).
The Commission has launched a public consultation to gather evidence and opinions on ways to make European official statistics fit for the future. The results of the consultation will inform the revision of the rules governing the development, production and dissemination of European official statistics (Regulation (EC) No 223/2009).
